The Affiliate Summit West: A Shift in Consumer Purchasing

Affiliate Summit West has long been the premier affiliate marketing conference in the industry. The annual event takes place in Las Vegas (this year at the Wynn hotel) and is regularly attended by thousands of performance marketing professionals. OwnerIQ attended this year’s event on January 9th – 11th, promoting our newly launched affiliate program and talking to online publishers about how they can be incrementally monetizing their site traffic.

This three day conference includes multiple tracks of educational sessions covering the latest trends and information from affiliate marketing experts. After a few meetings with publishers on the first day it was clear what the ‘buzz’ of this year’s Affiliate Summit was…investing in paid search and SEO to market locally. Savvy affiliates and online publishers are masters at capturing a consumer’s attention while they are considering a purchase. The industry is seeing a shift in both consumer searches and purchasing online occurring more on a local level. As more publishers shift to reaching audiences at a local level OwnerIQ can help them monetize that audience beyond a transaction commission or ad revenue.

This was OwnerIQ’s first Affiliate Summit West and proved to be a productive one. We are looking forward to attending Affiliate Summit East in August 2011!
