Employee Spotlight: Jennifer Kimball
Jen Kimball, Yield Management Analyst
You know our products, you know our tech… but do you know the people behind it all? Step into our Q’mmunity Corner and learn who’s who with our employee spotlight series. Today we’re featuring Jen Kimball, Yield Management Analyst based in ownerIQ’s Boston office.
What’s the first thing you do in the morning:
I first check my emails and then grab a cup of coffee and water while I wait for the margin report to load (gotta stay hydrated). Then I report on how well we did yesterday, in regards to delivery and margin!
Take us through a typical day in the life of Jen:
A typical day varies here over on the YM team, which is why it is so exciting to come to work! I send out my daily reports right when I get in so I can clear up time to approve IOs, work on revshare/OPD reporting, listen to Doug interact with Poppy, discuss how we can improve margin, and work on even more reports! The beauty about being at the Q is that you are constantly working & collaborating with other teams, so each days brings something new. Oh and I can’t forget those Jostle shout-outs!
You’re most productive when…
When everyone is positive and motivated to be working towards their goals, as well as the Q’s goals. Caffeine helps as well!
What’s a big project you are working on right now?
Everything is a big project 😉
How many browser tabs do you have open at any given time?
Probably 5 – 10 tabs and about 6 excel files.
Your desk: messy or neat?
I keep it tidy.
Lunch: bring or buy?
It’s a little mixture of both.
What’s your favorite perk at the Q?
Friday snacks!! It’s a good time to talk to co-workers, “enjoy” a funky beer, and play some games!
Music while you work: yes or no?
What’s on your shuffle?
Honestly….techno/dance music is what I listen to. The techno beats are what get me through tough excel times.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A soccer player – go USWNT!
If money weren’t an object and you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Some place where the water is clear and the sand isn’t rocky!
You get around by: walking, driving, public transportation or a mix?
A mix of walking, driving and public transportation.
Tell us, mountain or beach?
When you’re not here, where are you?
I go down to the Cape almost every weekend to spend time with the fam.
If you have one then we’ve got to know… what’s your favorite Q Jay (Jay Habegger, CEO) moment?
Pretty much any time Chris Roy and I get to teach him a new excel trick.
Looking ahead – what most excites you most about 2019 and your work?
dCPM margin management automation! 🙂
